DUBAI – A DAZZLING EXPERIENCE

Dubai is one among the seven emirates and is also their capital. It is located on the Persian Gulf and is bordered by the Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the Sultanate of Oman. It is in close proximity to the Arabian Desert characterised by the sand dunes and date palm trees. Dubai has a humid climate and it is also famous for its oil that was first discovered in the year 1966. An interesting fact to note is that the first oil field discovered was named “Fateh” or “good fortune”. Soon after, Dubai was witness to massive industrialisation and infrastructural development. The revenue generated by the oil reserves were used to finance this infrastructural development. Soon their reserves of oil dried up and oil, which constituted around 24% of GDP in the year 1990, has now dropped to a very low level. The Lebanese war saw many people enter Dubai seeking a safe haven and the Gulf war hit Dubai’s financial performance but this was soon reversed. Also, post the Gulf war, the nation also hiked up its oil prices and this soon brought the nation back on track. Dubai is considered to be one among the fast growing economies in the world. Initially valued for its oil reserves, today Dubai has shifted its focus to a more tourism-oriented motive to increase their revenues. And today, Dubai is the most preferred choice for conducting any business affair. It is considered to be a tourist and business hub. Real estate and tourism are two significant aspects that make up a majority of revenue for the nation. Tourism ensures uninterrupted flow of foreign currency into its markets.

Tourism is so popular in Dubai mostly because of its shopping complexes and malls. It is statistically proven that around 14.9 million visitors visited hotels in Dubai for an overnight stay and this number is expected to rise to 20 million by the year 2020. Dubai is also famous for its “Ski Dubai”, which is an indoor skiing recreation place at the Mall of Dubai. Dubai is also a prime example of architectural splendour. The Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa and the man-made artificial islands are undeniable proof of the sheer brilliance of the human mind at work. There is also the Dubai Miracle garden that used recycled water through a concept called drip irrigation to grow over forty five million flowers. Waterways, Tram, Metros, Air Transport, Road transport and all other means of transport are characterised by solid and convenient infrastructure.

Dubai is surely a place that every person who likes to travel should visit. A person has to obtain a Dubai tourist visa if he has any desire to visit Dubai. An express Dubai visa may also be obtained for reasonable causes. The Dubai tourist visa fee is reasonable when compared to the fees required to be paid by other countries. Obtaining a Dubai visa and enjoying Dubai should be top priority for any person who loves travel.
